and not only does it have flashy features like that, it also offers backwards compatible reencoding of old jpegs, meaning if you only have jpeg source images, jpeg-xl is by far the best option.

they were made with care and are great, so let's not let them earn a bad reputation like webp (or the shortlived avif). let's implement them, support them, not block usage.

the chromium project is anticipated to officially introduce jpeg-xl support soon. most other major software packages support the format already.
